From what NGV installers have told me, only 4 wheel drive vehicles are allowed to install double tanks.
Opening up for discussion, which vehicle do you think would be most suitable for double tank? e.g. Pajero (which model), Toyota Prado, Mitsubishi Storm, Land rover, CRV?

hoggies, its actually the space and weight factors only.. Imagine 65kgs x 2 = 130kgs permanently on your vehicle.

I don't think we need so many tanks if we are driving in Klang valley or going down south. The NGV facilities are quite well in place in Central and South.
The only shortcoming we face when we are driving north and east.
What is the % of your time you drive your vehicle to north and east.
Even if you are going north, you only face problem in Ipoh after your last refill in Rawang.
We have two stations in Penang, one in Kulim and one in Kedah.
To me, 1 78 litre tank is sufficient for my Naza Ria.
I only hope Petronas can fix additional NGV stations along North South Highway, Ipoh, Taiping,Kangar, Termerloh, Kuantan, KT and KB.

Most cars has the space for 2 tanks. but I've heard that JPJ guideline is very clear cut. 2 tanks only allowed for 4-wheel drive cars. Although there is enough range to drive around in KL, it would be nice to fill up every 3-4 days instead of every 1-2 days. Plus it would allow trips up north on NGV all the way! (Rawang -> Penang)

yeo911,
Get your RM625 rebate before you send your NGV for puspakom inspection and register with JPJ is risky and not a smart idea.
If you have an accident prior to your JPJ endorsement for the NGV conversion in your registration card, insurance company will not pay you as your 'Bahan Bakar' is still petrol.
Good Luck

Problem would be if you got into an accident. Your insurance would be invalid for not having a JPJ approved installation

Good news for VOLVO owners. Have a guy who is doing NGV conversion for VOLVO (any model). He did for my VOLVO 240 1992 model 2 months ago and no problems at all.
earlier 1 month RM 520 using petrol , nut now 1 month NGV around RM 110 + Petrol RM 80.
You guys with VOLVO cars better get it done.
You can try calling this person George @ 0163708092.

Dear all,
i still remember somebody wrote in this forum that over extensive use of gas (continious use of gas for long journey) is not good for the engine. Although you might save some money by installing 2 tanks you might kena back if your engine have problem....Give the engine a rest also..lah....

Not all cars are suitable for 2 tank installations. I think a Pajero or Prado would be up to the job, very hardy suspension and lots of pulling power.

I saw a Volvo 960 with a yellow tank today. Didn't manage to talk to him for long just he said the installation is ok. No problem.

More NGV consumers must write in to Petronas to install kiosk in Ipoh and Pahang. At present, Petronas is not setting up stations at the most demand for the gas is required. Imagine there are no kiosk along the Plus highway.

Like someone said earlier, why fix two tanks when you can fix one 100 l. I did that for my Unser. I don't know its weight, but I'm sure it's lighter than having two tanks. Does anyone know of the existence of tanks that are bigger than 100 litres?
