My NGV perdana V6 got check engine light since the conversion done. Is it some part failure? And the RPM seem drop almost zero sometime but anyway, im happy wif the saving of NGV.
Any sifu can tell me about the check engine light?

hi eagle7;

Thanks, i'll do the necessary ASAP. I'm very happy with my car' performance and quite impressed with the installer's equipment but a bit worried with e approval, jpj etc.

Hi Bencklim,

A*** of Bangi has converted a Nissan Cefiro. The car belongs to a PETRONAS NGV staff. Perhaps you can check with them. They might be able to give you with user reference as well. I believe they had teething problem after the initial installation but have thus resolved it.

Hi FaridN9,

Have your Perdana sent for JPJ inspection and approval? if not then get your installer to help you in the process. If you prefer to do it yourself, then ask the installer to provide you the necessary documents for inspection and approval.

NGV Info,

How suitable does Nissan Cefiro to install NGV?
Will it be like the Perdana V6?

Thanks.

Dear Farid,

Bluemec is a new manufacturer on NGV equipment. Our preliminary experience with this kit is not very favourable. It have bugs in efficiency programming that needs to be resolved. Anyhow, we hope that your bluemec is not similar to our experience.

To our nest knowledge, the Bluemec kit does NOT have the proper paper; that is, SIRIM Approval. How did it get into your Private Car? It is not legal without SIRIM approval, and your car insurance will be VOID. Without JPJ endorsement on NGV Conversion, you are able liable for civil law suit if the other accident victim takes legal action on you. To get JPJ endorsement, you need to be inspected by Puspakom with Bluemec SIRIM Approval and DOSH approval for your cylinder.

For other members, THIS IS WHY WE DISALLOW 'ADVERTISING ON NGV COMMUNITY' as many installers are converting private car, illegally, on-license-for-hire, and other hanky-panky methods. The Bluemec kit should NOT be installed into any private car without SIRIM Approval but Some Installers use your car as TEST-Samples. FaridN9 should demand for JPJ Endorsement and SIRIM Approval Letter from his/her installers. If not, FaridN9 can be facing JPJ roadblocks problems later on when JPJ starts an OPS on illegal NGV car (maybe in June 2008 onwards).

Again, we maybe wrong about the Bluemec on SIRIM Approval. If approval is obtained, we apologise on our caution in advance.

Hi, i'm new, just came across this community yesterday. Today my perdana v6 had just been converted into ngv despite noticing ngvinfo bout perdana v6 problem. Hope the ngv operates as expected & just always be aware of the engine high temperature. I'm thinking that my perdana would not be used for 8 straight hours operation daily. Just cant stand rm50 oil consumption for 1 day as i'm travelling everyday from melaka to seremban/kl/s.alam. My perdana using sequential 'bluemac' and semi composite sylinder 6.5 (nasib baik tayar boleh simpan kat bawah). It cost me RM7500. Is it true that bluemac brand is the latest in the market? i was told this by my mechanic.

Hi
Is this problem for Perdana V6 only? or other V6 engines too?
I have convert my Naza ria V6 using Emme Mixer. Not sure about the Injection Emulator.

Dear ht2006,

Your vehicle is a V6, and it needs a AEB126 unit to reduce the OHM resistance. AEB124 is meant for 4 cylinder vehicles.

Your check engine light is caused by 16 OHM resistance on the injectors. Since your injectors are operating at lower Ohm resistance, there is a power cut to the injector during NGV mode. The original ECU detects a power cut to all injectors (Sequentially) and send out a MIL warning.

With this MIL warning, your vehicle operates on LOS (Limited Operation Strategy) in which your ignition timing does not vary widely. This will result to poor pick-up and limited high speed ability.

MIL warning on Perdana V6 is very common as most Suppliers carry only Proton Wira VDO Injector Emulator. This problem is also affect KIA, Hyundai, Mitsubishi half-cut engines, Perdana V6 and Madza. Since Madza is rare, there is little call-for-help on madza in this forum. There are KIA spectra, optima, hyundai trajet, accent, sonata and V6 perdana.

Why does this happens? The reason is simple: Cheap! Since it is cheaper to import, stock and sell a single 13-16 Ohm injector emulator (where most demands comes from Proton Wira VDO taxi). As in most first-time consumer who purse blindly on Cheap Priced Installation, they will surely get a VDO injector emulator. Specific injector emulator (like Perdana V6-specific) is limited or not available unless you approach companies like Hijau MOG. They tend to keep limited stock on most items for aftersales NGV repairs. But this is not profitable practice, and they do charge slightly higher.

They are many injector emulator with selectable OHM resistance level. You have received a cheap (USD20.00) per unit, likely from China. As for your DIY solution, you will be experiencing a major engine problem in due time. The problems should be around Ignition Module, ECU corruption & damage to the gearbox. In Perdana V6, gearbox is your major concern in NGV mode. Gear shifting is inefficient and prolong duration can lead to gear kicking situation. After that, you can expect to change a new gearbox.

Thus, it is pretty worrying that many Perdana V6 NGV users are not made known of the possible vehicle damage if NGV is not operating correctly. If NGV is operating with genuine parts & performing as expected, you should be concerned about protecting your V6 from the high engine temperature. You should have a new Gearbox Oil cooler installed to prolong your gearbox.

Just another info: Many Perdana v6 Premier taxis operate on Petrol, and NOT NGV. They know that NGV on Perdana V6 can not withstand the extreme heat from their 8 hours operation, unlike the reliable Proton Saga/Iswara or Wira VDO.

So, you need to get serious and abandon your thought of DIY with the ECU. You will pay the price of future damage as proven by many DIY Perdana V6 people before you. You are not the first, and surely not going to be the last neither. Get a Selectable Injector Emulator as soon as possible. You will have a bigger price to pay later on, as you are not driving a VDO ECU, and the victim is your gearbox (since it is electronically controlled by your ECU too).

Hi ht2006,

Your solution is not a real "solution". It merely covers up the actual problem. The actual reason is the resistance in your cables. As you drive a 6 cylinder car (that means two sets of injector wiring), you will also need two sets of AEB124. The price of RM500 is not tooooo far fetched.

Rgds

Same issue with your mixer system. Your emulator 'box' needs a lower resistance. So theorethically he would need to change the whole box.

There are some emulator boxes that come with a switch to toggle between the different resistances (ohm). If I remember correctly, normal resistance for cars is about 60ohm, and the mitsubishi needs 30/35ohm.

So it's a hardware issue. NOT a 'fixing' issue. (Unless of course you have some other problem) - but the above issue is one of the biggest errors that inexperiences workshops fall into.

Hi. Normal resistance for petrol injector is around 15 ohms.
we use diferent emulator "renix" for injector 5 ohms ( example renault engine)

thanks Harry, will try n contact the person. Will let u all know if the problem cant solve.
Another question here, can Mercedes W210 convert to NGV? IF yes, where can do the conversion?

The perdana engine, similar to some Mitsubishi engine requires a different resistance in the wiring. I assume you are using a sequential kit (usinga mixer kit on a perdana is not wise). Anyway, for the sequential kit, your emulator cable needs to be linked to two AEB124 interface cables. This will solve your problem.

To other drivers: Many workshops skip this step and like to cheat the system by removing the bulb in your "check Engine" light. This will ultimately cover up any serious problems you might have with your engine since you cannot see it light up anymore.

thanks Harry, may i know who is the person i contact the number?
Did he own a workshop?

sometime just run on petrol then the check engine light will goes then after sometime its comes again :-(
aquaria Posted - 11/09/2007 : 2:03:53 PM
have u sent ur car for petrol tune? better do so as the sensor maybe biol after u install the ngv system
sni2007 Posted - 11/09/2007 : 11:57:54 AM
maybe causes by :

1. Check engine light always appear - wrong type petrol emulator used in your car or wrong setting of emulator (happened to my car before) or wrong wiring. Better check with your installer, as he should solve that.

2. Low RPM maybe due to dirty throttle body / carburator (DIY cleaning or sent to workshop) or blockage at your air filter (open and check, maybe too much dust there)

3. Low RPM also becauses not proper tuned your regulator (reducer) maybe on idle tuning..you can find how to DIY tuning your regulator in this forum.

just from my experienced.
